- More suitable for your target audience (8 - 15yr old). By this I mean less like an architectural blueprint and more like a fun, child-friendly, cartoon image
- Your final design must also include an object that can be clicked on for every class member's topic
- Have a think about how your final flash work will appear (hand drawn, vector or bitmap artwork). I would like your concept to closely resemble your final output to be used in your presentation

THE IPad Q&A's
1. In your opinion how important is it for mobile applications and devices to both look good and function properly? Comment on both the attractiveness of the software and the hardware.
A. To be honest, I’m kind of like you were 12 months ago with the whole IPAD thing. I have researched it till my eyes hurt. From what I’ve researched about it(as not had the opportunity to use one) if its anything like the IPhone then I think it could really work. I don’t know about carrying around an iPhone as big as an A4 piece of paper though. I see where their going with the whole thing and they have already made improvements over the first release of the ipad.
2. Who designed the iPad? Was it an individual or team? In your opinion, do people use this device because it looks good or because it functions well? Or does it do both?
Like : The conversion of the print edition for the app took approximately 2 weeks. I think they use it because it’s the latest FAD and tomorrow there will be something totally new. This may even out doo the IPad.
3.How has the iPad changed the way some businesses function? Can you find examples of where businesses have implemented the iPad into their day-to-day activities?
4.Overall, what other major flaws of this type of technology? Can you think of anyways in the future that this hardware will be improved to the point where it will compete with desktop and laptop computers?
A. Well its already wireless so you can do most things with it. Design wise I remember the first ad for IPad and these people were just throwing in into their bags like it was a toy, then I thought how good can that screen be and how tough is it. Like could you hit it with a hammer and it nor break if so id have one… its also like one massive hard drive and iv have portable ones of them that have done it in because of the whole (stuff it in your bag thing)..
5.How do you think the iPad could help your day-to-day work flow? Are the answers straightforward? Is it more a case of combining this technology with others that already exist?
A. Right now I don’t think It could. Not enough people have them.
B. Its just another distraction more than anything
C. I wouldn’t be able to use most of the features of the IPad I’m my life at this time . that’s not to say that in the next 5 years I won’t think it’s the best thing since sliced bread either.
A. I think business has shaped the way Apple developed it. Its like Apple and Microsoft are and always have been on this ..’’I need to bring it out first thing’’ .
7.Is the iPad and tablets in general a passing fad? Or do you think this type of technology is here to stay long-term?
A. Well in my last statement I called it a fad but I think its also a good start for what the future holds for technology and design. I just don’t think it’s 100% there yet.
A. will do
A. For now I'm more for the cons over the pros but yeah in 5 years I'm sure id change my way of thing towards the IPad or other Better designed product from another company.

Assessment Aimed at Getting Children to tell their parents about ways to help the planet . starting at home
I choose installing a water tank.
Remember when reading this that it is aimed and children.
Remember when reading this that it is aimed and children.
GO GREEN
GET A TANK…!
Water is essential to life on Earth, but people tend to treat it like there is an endless supply. It's time to talk about the value of water and how you can protect your future.
It’s up to us to start thinking … “it’s good to be saving water”
Every drop counts…
To start being smarter about the way we use water in your home, tell your parents about water tanks.
What is a tank?
It’s like a drink bottle, it holds water. It connects to your gutter with a pipe and when it rains all the water from your roof goes into the bottle/Tank.
There are many different types of tanks. Big round one’s as big as a swimming pool or you can get a slim line one that fits nicely down the side of the house.
Why should you get a tank?
By getting a tank you are not only saving water but your parents would save money when their water bill comes in. It saves it from just going down the drain and into the ocean. There’s enough water in there already isn’t there!
What can you use it for?
You can use the water to drink/have a bath or shower and even brush your teeth...
Did you know? That rain water is better for you then the water you get from your taps if you don’t have a tank already.
You can also just use it to water the garden, as plants love rain water. Just connect a hose to your tank and there you go… All the water you need is there to make your flowers grow.

Jakes Story.
In 2001, I got motivated to change my lifestyle, begin eating better and stay committed to exercise. The most dramatic changes, however, came in the first week, losing 7kgs. I needed nothing else to motivate me that was it. I was hooked. Twelve months later I has amazing lost 30kgs. I must say I did it the hard way EXCERSIZE and eating right is the only way to successfully lose weight and keep it off for life.
Eating right didn’t mean starving myself either, I actually ate more than I did when I was overweight. I ate more healthy foods and more of it.
In the beginning personal training at the gym was tough, but the feeling you get after you work out is intense.

Critque of an army artical
- Does the copy get to the point quickly? no it rambles on more about why not to join the army, to me.
- Is the copy shy about the offer or incentive? there is not enough promotional information in the offer.
- Is it easy to respond to? No way they need a clear like saying "APPLY NOW" in link form.
- Does the copy overcome every objection to replying, leaving the reader with no choice but to act? No way id rather go work at McDonald's.
- Does the copy use simple words? yes to simple
- Does the copy use active language (does it address the site visitor as ‘you’)? yes because they are talking directly to the person
- Is the copy broken down into simple sections and bullet points? no its all over the place and, to me its a very bad peace or writing.

Redesigning Products (Shower Power)
Shower power has been around for many years and the packaging has not changed much in that time. It started off only being sold on TV then moved to the supermarkets a few years after. The price is and always has been competitive with other like products on the market. I think the marketing of this product really lets it down.
Pros
The only good thing about this product is that it works.
Cons
Everything about this products packaging is way off. I find it dull boring and the graphics look so cheap. I don’t like the shape of the bottle or the colours. The bottle is also to big and bulky.

Ineffective advertising
This to me is bad advertising. i think Nike had to much time on there hands.what had a kid urinating on a wall got anything to do with Nike. I don't like the use of colour and the ad looks to 3rd world.
what can i say about this. using Paris to advertise anything is just wrong not to mention the dog in her crutch. ARRRR this ad makes me angry, i just want to slap her.

Homework (OH&S) Artical
AUSTRALIA'S meat and poultry industry is under review after a worker was decapitated while cleaning a fast moving machine at a Melbourne factory, ABC News reports.
In August this year, Sarel Singh, 34, was killed instantly when he was sucked into a machine and decapitated while working at a Baiada poultry processing plant in Melbourne's west.
A preliminary report on the workplace death, obtained by ABC's Lateline, found Australia's largest poultry manufacturer had breached occupational health and safety laws by not controlling risks at the plant, ABC News reports.
WorkSafe Victoria told Lateline the entire industry was now also under review.
It said, when it came to workplace safety, employers needed to do more than the bare minimum and that they were responsible for all of their employees.Tim Kennedy from the National Union of Workers (NUW) was horrified by the incident.
"It is absolutely horrific in a civilised society that we have now the fact that these things still occur, it is just not acceptable," he said, according to ABC News.
Six weeks earlier, Lateline revealed Baiada was already under investigation over claims of unlawful and unethical treatment of its majority migrant workforce.
Singh's brother, Harry, said Sarel had immigrated from India four years ago in the hope of finding a better life in Australia.
But he said his brother had found his job at Baiada "hell" and that he was planning on returning to India.
"He used to say that life working at that place was like a hell. It's a very hard job and he was tired of that job. But due to the burden of the loans and debts over here and in Australia too, he had to work over there and he was struggling hard."According to NUW, Sarel had just finished a four-hour shift when he was asked to go back and re-clean a pack line area.
Sarel was standing on a ladder hosing the area down when he was swept into a machine and decapitated.
Mr Kennedy said Sarel was not familiar with the line and that the chain line should have been stopped while it was being cleaned.
"Over time what has happened is the company, to maintain production, to maintain the returns they want to get, has pushed the risk to workers by speeding that chain up so they have run the chain 20 to 40 birds per minute and people have been asked to clean it," Mr Kennedy said, according to ABC News.
"The night on which Mr Singh was killed the chain was running at absolute capacity."
The WorkSafe Victoria report confirmed the line was operating at the top speed of 183 birds a minute and that "by not adequately controlling the risks associated with this plant, [Baiada poultry] is in contravention of the requirements of section 21(1) and 21(2)(A) of the occupational health and safety act," ABC News reports.
Lateline reportedly sought comment from both Baiada and Ecowize, the company contracted to clean the production areas of the poultry plant, but had received no response.
Harry told ABC News he was in shock over his brother's death.
"How can I believe it? My brother, he was my real brother and only brother," he said
